About our organisation

Hervey Bay Netball Association Ltd. is a non-profit sporting organisation committed to the development of Netball and providing professional pathways for local members involved in the club.

According to Netball Australia, netball is the biggest team sport in Australia, played by over 1.2 million men, women and children all over the country. It is also the number one participation sport for Australian girls. Hervey Bay Netball association proudly acknowledges its mission to continue to empower women to shine in sport whilst working to adopt an all-inclusive club with growing opportunities for all ages, genders, abilities and backgrounds.

Future growth of Netball in Hervey Bay

The last few years has been a testing period for many sporting organisations as COVID-19 has created many challenges and unpredictable events.  However, Hervey Bay Netball has shown great resilience throughout this period with its ability to maintain a membership of approx. 500 players, and significant interest for new members in the 2022 season.  During this period of uncertainty, our association continued to work towards building long-term sustainable operations to facilitate safe and enjoyable netball for the local community. The investment of a commercial kitchen/canteen fit out was aimed at helping us financially sustain the ongoing maintenance of the 8 newly built netball courts and clubhouse facilities at the Fraser Coast Sport Precinct.   Our association is proud of its operational resilience and confident that this will be the driving force of Hervey Bay Netball’s member growth.

How sponsorship helps

Corporate sponsorship is vital to reducing the costs associated with the sport that allows more families and individuals to become involved in this great game.  With the support of sponsors our association will continue to provide development programs for youth from as young as 5 years, representative netball opportunities for our youth and programs that provide professional Netball pathways for our members including coaches and umpires.  Over the last 12 months the pathway opportunities provided to our members has resulted in:

  • Several players and coaches selected to represent the USC Thunder Teams in 2021
  • Our 2021 Representative program saw 4 teams from Under 12 to 15’s competes at the 2021 Nissan State Age Championships on the Sunshine Coast
  • Significant interest from our players which will extend our representative program up to Under 17’s in 2022
  • The development of the Hervey Bay Open’s Central Premier League Squad

Player Scholarships $75 - $500

HBNA is dedicated to player development and pathways. Player scholarships offer opportunities for promising players to represent Hervey Bay at State Age and Representative Carnivals where they may not have previously had the financial capability to attend.  This is an exciting sponsorship opportunity that directly helps a young individual to reach their sporting potential.

  •  U11’s Player – $75 per player
  • Development Player (Carnival Representation Only) $200 per player
  • State Age Player (U12’s – U17’s) – $500 per player
NetSetGO Sponsor $1000

This season we are offering an opportunity for an exclusive NetSetGo NET program sponsor.  The NET program runs for 10 weeks offering netball learning development for boys and girls aged 5-6 years.  This program is a fantastic and fun introduction to the game of Netball and also promotes healthy, active living to our younger children.  This sponsorship opportunity will reduce the program cost from $135 per child to $90 per child, making this a more affordable sporting program for young children.
